New MB and CPU...  Whether Z97 or Z170 you will have native 4k support onboard, granted HDMI at 24Hz on both,  but I believe you will be able to view and edit your BIOS even with the newer FW on your TV.

I will get a new motherboard Z97, but i want to ask you something about native 4k support - onboard
As i said, i have a new GTX 980 Ti
If i get the motherboard with native 4k support - onboard, do i have to use this port ( HDMI,i guess ) connected to my TV ??
In this case, what happent with the GTX 980 Ti ? Is disabled ????

You will want to use the HDMI out on the 980Ti.  It will be superior in every way over the Z97 onboard.

I order tomorrow the motherboard, i'm not sure which one, but i think i go for Z97X - UDH5 or Z97X -SOC.
All i want to know is, if i will be able to access my BIOS with the new motherboard, without using the onboard video
What do you think ?
Thank you

I think its going to come down to the following...

First, if you don't plan to OC, get the Z97X-UD5H.  I believe you will be happier with it unless you have a compelling reason for the SOC.  The UD5H is mature and stable.  One of the primary reasons I purchased one.

Other dependencies:
Firmware version of TV/Monitor you will use for the display
The cable you use to connect the monitor to the card
Ensure the monitor supports both the res and refresh rate supported by your card

My set up exactly.  Very pleased with this board.

One of the Mods is also running this platform.  Absic.  Check out his review.

Thank you very much, shadowsports.
I don't understand what do you mean by " mods " ? Are there mods, for this motherboard ( BIOS ) ?
Another question : this motherboard has AMI or UEFI bios ? Anyway, i do not really understand what's the difference between the two types.
I hope i can access the BIOS with the new motherboard ( GTX 980Ti, if it does matter )
Someone, with the same problem like i have, said that with a convertor like this, he was able to access the BIOS

I have been using TV's for a monitor for over ten years. All you are doing is putting a video signal into the TV just like the monitor. The update much have to be reset for everything to work.

The thing is when the computers boots the first thing it looks at is a VGA port / DVI port & last HDMI port. Building a new computer might not fix it. If you get a video card with a DVI port it will do the same thing.

The computer is working fine with another monitor right. I myself would be working on the TV and not the computer. I would try this too get a DVI to HDMI adapter and see what happens.

I know everything was working before the update. But what change not the computer just the TV.
