Thanks for the suggestions. Soon after posting my original reply, I discovered that the Renesas USB 3.0 driver I had installed was slightly out of date. I uninstalled the older driver and updated to the newest Renesas USB 3.0 driver (2.1.19.0) ; perhaps this will stop the error message.
Install Intel INF Driver 9.2.3.1016 and Intel Management Engine Interface(MEI) Driver 7.1.13.1088.
I installed INF and MEI drivers that I downloaded directly from the Gigabyte website when I set up my Windows 7 install four days ago. I'm pretty sure they're the most current drivers, but I'll need to verify that. I'm currently out of the house and won't be back until the 14th. I will resume troubleshooting this problem as soon as I return and will keep everyone posted as to my findings, in case anyone else is suffering from this same annoyance.
I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope that this is something which can be remedied by installing the right drivers and that I don't have to do a complete system tear-down and RMA the board.
