Hi finally got RMA  e-mail after 3 phone calls, I have been advised to send it by carrier as it would be quicker, priced DPD £18, UPS 60.94 eur, I  am begining to think is it worth it as i might not get a replacement, another carrier was £33. what do you think,I could put it by post but it would go to the AMD sorting address and they say it will take a lot longer.

Entirely your choice. It would be too easy to spend someone else's money. Seems a lot though.

Don't expect too much from the WD Drive. I have been bitterly disappointed by the 2 of them I own!

As regard to the CPU, only you can really decide on the best course of action where that is concerned. If you do have available funds to order a new one then that might be the best option. Then send the damaged CPU by post and if AMD do replace it you can always sell it on e-bay or keep it as a spare.

By the way, I have had some feedback to my queries regarding the ridges on the socket and it seems that some sockets do have these as part of the design.

Hi cookiebun,

pleased to see that your build has gone OK. Don't worry, you'll soon get used to Windows 7, it's so much better than Vista.  :D

Hi I just got round to installing Black Box 2 and I noticed the 4 cores are only running at 803mhz looks like i will have to update the bios should i use the utility on the disc that does it through the internet or is there a better way.

Use QFlash not the @BIOS Windows based utility.
Press End as you are booting to get into it.

Generally it is best advice to go for the latest one. They are all full versions not Beta so no problems there. Just make 100% sure that you have the right BIOS update for your motherboard revision. I just looked and now I understand your question better. It is just saying that your CPU is supported from BIOS version FB so any version later than that will be fine.
