Well you could try that and see if it helps, quite often it can depending on the actual problem of course. If you want to go down that raod I would suggest starting from the beginning and clear the CMOS following these instruction exactly. Afterwards you will also load the optimised BIOS defaults so that will give you a clean start.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Sorry to butt in here but, I just reread your entire post again and you don't seem to have any real major problems there except the occasional boot issue , may I suggest you update your bios from FF to FG ... this is easily done via the Gigabyte website and see if this fixes the small issue you experience once or twice a month.

Make sure that you use QFlash to run the update not @BIOS for safety reasons. Also make sure that during the proceedure youuntick the box on the QFlash homepage that mentions Keeping DMI Data.

Ditto what DM said........ Fg1 was the beta Bios that disappeared about 2 months back as far as the site shows me , being replaced by FG, try using Taiwan link if all you find is Fg1.....or other till you find it.

Mmmmmmmmmm.....Just checked FG1.....not FG any more , must be new, ... thanks for the heads Up! ......Released 1st April !

Can be confusing how they run it sometimes.......it went ....FF......Fg1 beta......FG.....now FG1.....thank god I'm only slightly dyslexic.

Occasionally Gigabyte can and will roll back a BIOS update if they think it's in everyone's best interest, ... this one was a surprise to me as well !

We will just have to wait and , I had Fg1 on my system for a while and it seemed fine to me.

Sometimes a BIOS update is pulled from the site usually because an issue has been found with it. Normally it will be recoded and uploaded a short time afterwards.

Theres enough problems with marvell , ... run it IDE for DVD Drive if your using this port, this will give you one less problem to kick around.
