Everything is fully updated (BIOS to version FJh, drivers installed, and Windows updated). Need to get my second identical memory stick in and configure the RAM to work in dual channel booting to Windows. More fun tomorrow.

I tried a few more times and it posted ultimately ending up in the BIOS (then installing Windows). Had to use one stick in "3rd" slot (have to look the manual for slot info A or B, 1 or2).

Want to get dual channel going with my second identical stick. When I try I do not end up getting to Windows. The manual was clear on what slots to use but nothing seems to work for me. Need to investigate the BIOS and perform a deep dive.

Once I can get into using the desired 64GB of RAM all will be well.

Hello,

Putting together a new build on the bench (not in chassis).

CPU:Intel Core i7-14700K

CPU cooler:Noctua NH-D15S

Motherboard:GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS ELITE AX

Ram: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6400 (PC5 51200)

SSD/HDD:SAMSUNG 870 EVO Series 2.5" 1TB SATA III V-NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-77E1T0B/AM

GPU: Onboard

PSU:Seasonic VERTEX GX-1200, 1200W 80+ Gold

Chassis: Not in yet

OS:Not installed yet

Monitor: Dell 22" HDMI connected via HDMI for initial set up

Turned on PSU. Board initially lights up, CPU cooler fan spinning, RAM lights are glowing, keyboard via USB is does not display light activity, monitor is not getting signal. The board is getting power but cannot get to the next step of hitting DEL and entering BIOS. CPU cables are secure from board to PSU, same with the board power cable.

Little DRAM light on the side of the board is flashing up and down. Tried to boot with one stick instead of two (32GB per stick). CPU dropped in nicely, secured it, and installed cooler. Want to get into the BIOS to check things out and then install Windows. I am stuck at this point. Pulled out the CMOS battery and placed back in to no avail. Believe the CPU and RAM are compatible based on the compatibility listings at the Gigabyte site. Any thoughts?

Hi, This is another update having received some more information from the good folks at Gigabyte Support as the matter is now solved. I was advised to take the following steps:

1 Use Qflash to update the BIOS to FGb
2 Disable CSM and then save this and then boot back into the BIOS
3 Set the Secure Boot Mode to Custom
4 Restore Factory Keys > Yes
This will then take you into Windows and then check System information, you will see that Secure Boot is on. Therefore, the FGb BIOS is fine it is just that with the previous BIOS, FF, I didn't have to do this.

I hope this helps others and thanks again to Gigabyte Support in the UK and Taiwan.

Thanks,

Teknology9

UPDATE

The issue was with the beta BIOS for this board, so I will wait for next one to appear before updating.

Hi folks,

I am trying to enable secure boot within the BIOS of the Gigabyte b550 Aorus Elite V2 Rev 1.5 so that it appears as 'ON' within the Windows 11 system information section. I have taken the following steps:

In the BOOT Menu

Disabled CSM

This then enables Secure Boot > enabled Secure Boot

Next Secure Boot Mode  Custom >  Custom to Standard

Next Install factory defaults > Yes

I then get a message stating ' Secure Variable Update is locked down'

Has anyone else come across this issue with this motherboard? If so, how did you resolve this issue?

Cheers,

Motherboards with Intel processors / 0x125 microcode bios release date ?
« Last post by fenice19 on August 05, 2024, 02:04:19 pm »
Hi someone could tell us if a new bios with 0x125 microcode for raptorlake crash issues  will be released for x790 Mobo.
Asus/msi have just released an update.
In the last gigabyte bios  F7e nothing about x0125 microcode:
F7e"
"Introduce the "Intel Default Settings" and enabled as default, user needs to disable it first to use GIGABYTE PerfDrive profiles
Optimize CEP and power settings

Processor support and optimization for i9-14900KS
Update Intel APO (DTT) framework version to 9.0.11405.42569
Add EZ-OC support for AORUS x XPG co-branding DRAM

By what I'm reading from the book. It is sharing that slot with the SSD. What happens if you run the SSD in the M2A slot.

We are not support here it is just a user to user forum. Plus not many of us are here these days.

Plus by looking at all the Bios updates there isn't any for that problem. I would contact support themselves.
