The new BIOS I found says it improves Memory Compatibility. Currently the Computer needs about 20 Seconds before the POST Screen appears, but then Windows boots very quickly. 

You having any problems with like blue screen or even system crashing. If not then the memory is fine. You can update to FB3j but again that is a beta bios. If something goes wrong than you might end up sending back to Gigabyte.

What is the boot set to in the bios. Is the fast boot enabled? If everything is working I would worry about the boot time. This is myself I could careless on how fast a computer boots. All care about that it booted to windows.

If you are going to video editing than 32gb is really not enough. You really need 64gb or higher.

My Computer was assembled in a Shop, and in order to make the Computer start for installing Windows this BIOS has been installed. The Person doing this, said he had problems to start the Computer, but the next Day he said he had to install this new BIOS FB3g. The Motherboard is new.
The Main Memory is this one  Crucial Pro Overclocking White DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR5-6000, CL36-38-38-80 and is not in the compatibility list. The new BIOS I found says it improves Memory Compatibilty. Currently the Computer needs about 20 Seconds before the POST Screen appears, but then Windows boots very quickly.
I hope to improve the Memory Compatibilty because I use this Computer for Video Editing.

OK the 1st thing is any time you have a letter at the end it is a beta bios. Did you update the bios or was it at that bios when you got it. Was the board new or used when you got it. Because I would be really surprise if Gigabyte would update to that bios FB3g.

There other thing what version board do you have? Rev. 1.0/1.1/1.2 have their own bios and rev.1.3 Has it's own bios. Look at the bottom left corner you should see which version you have by the screw hole.

Plus on either version there is no more updates at this time. Plus why do you want update the Bios? You having problems or you just thing you need to update it? One thing on any mother board you don't update things unless you having a problem.

Running memory at 4800Mhz is probably good for stability and is nothing to shake a stick at.

I was watching a video on this a few months ago. They said the new 6000 or 6400 that running at those speeds vs running them at base speed 4800. There was really no change.

I have been building computers from 1996. I have never OC a computer. I run a i9-9940x at 3.30 ghz 14 cores / 28 threads. I thought about building a new computer but why. This one does everything that the new would do.

That is a lot YouTube videos out there on this over heating problem. I see people a lot of times are people putting to much paste on the CPU. Why do we use the Paste between the CPU & heat sink?

I'll tell you right now 99% will get it wrong is why we use it.

Is that some of the problem or did Intel build a bad CPU? The internet is just loaded with people complaining about over heating problem.

Hello,

I use this Mainboard for about 2 Months. I would like to make a BIOS Update but I am uncertain which BIOS to use.
My current BIOS is FB3g which I cannot find in this List

While I don't have a Z790 based board, I do have decades of experience in system building and hardware.

When you are an early adopter of new technology and hardware, there can be some pain points and instability which can also be accompanied with undesired behavior.  Intel's quality has definitely taken a hit in recent years.  They still lead and are my first choice.   

I think its important to look at the platform as a whole.  Chipset, CPU, DDR5 memory, storage etc.  You've got hardware capable of nearly 6Ghz without OC.  Running memory at 4800Mhz is probably good for stability and is nothing to shake a stick at.  Can you get more, sure.  At what price though.  Do you need it?  Look at the percentage of performance increase.  A few hundred Mhz doesn't equate to anything except bragging rights.  What are you using the system for?  Gaming, Video production?  Its the system not meeting your needs.  Its top of class.

I'd focus on stability and reliability.  I typically go with "Auto" or whatever the default is.  If I need more processing power, I'd buy a newer board and processor.  You are already there basically.  You can lose hours / days of your life trying to tweak and squeeze every ounce of performance from your system.  If you have that time, great.  I don't, and just need stuff to work. 

My suggestion in this case.  If your system is performing well, there is no need to make changes.

What am I missing?  Why can't he run windows 10 on the Z790 D.  This is a single CPU MB. 

Windows 10 is still supported until 10/25.

The CPU he is running has two CPU's in it. (Performance-cores and Efficient-cores) If he is only to do normal stuff he can run windows 10. But if he is doing normal stuff and gaming he really should be running windows 11.

The Efficient is for normal stuff and the Performance is for like gaming. Windows 10 doesn't have that feature to switch between cores. Like I said if he is only doing normal stuff it really doesn't matter.

Here is example I run a game Anno 1800 and having no problem because I was running windows 11 on 12th gen CPU. On the Ubisoft forums people having problem with the game crashing. They were running the game using windows 10. I said I was running windows 11. Some of the people started to upgrade to windows 11 no more game crashes.

What kind of monitor set up are you using?  What video card are you using, or are you using onboard video.  What resolution are you running?

I was Abit guy for many years. Till they close down because the Cap issues. They made boards for Dell & HP. The Japanese made a lot bad caps and they didn't know it. So when the caps started to leak. They tried to repair as may as they could. But it got to a point where it just put them under.

I tried a lot of boards after that and it came down to Gigabyte. I have been running this one Ga-X299X Aorus Master with a i9 for 4 yrs. Plus I'll run this for maybe another few yrs. I'm sorry but build a new one to do what with it.

Plus I'm kinda sad to because what I'm reading. This the last one in this series that intel is going to make. My first one was Intel Core i7-920.

Because the Bios is a Beta Bios. So you can have bugs in it. Were you having a problem before you updated the Bios?

Thanks - was just wondering.  On a rare occasions I used the help, wa just surprised to see it. Also as a programmer, possibly worrying.

Having come back to Gigabyte through no choice of my own, I'm really impressed with the quality of the board, and how much better the bios is than MSI/ASUS equiv overall.

I have done more troubleshooting on the power-on problem which seems to have been a lose connector in my power supply - its all working well now.
